Abstract
PURPOSE: To pre-refine the Si, P, etc. in molten iron, decrease the refining load at the iron making refining by a converter and considerably decrease the amount of the slag formed by adding the specific amounts of iron oxide and CaO to the molten iron and stirring the same, and further adding the specific amount of iron oxide thereto.
CONSTITUTION: Molten iron 2 is put in a molten iron pan 1 and an impeller 3 is rotated to stir the molten iron 2. At the same time, quicklime and sintered ore of iron and steel ore is charged thereto from a hopper 4. In this case, the sintered ore is added at rates of 2.0W5.0kg(Wo) when converted to the oxygen contained therein per Si 1% contained in the molten iron per 1 ton of the molten iron and the quicklime at rates of 3W5kg(Wxao) so that Wo/Wcao becomes 0.5W1.5 and CaO is added until its addition amount becomes 24W32kg per Si 1% per 1 ton of the molten iron, whereby the Si of the molten iron is desiliconized to 0.1% or less. Next, sintered ore is added 2W10kg in oxygen equivalent under the same conditions, whereby the molten iron is dephosphrized. The basicity of the slag of this times is 1W1.5 and the amounts of T and Fe are 3W10%.
