Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a control system for controlling operation of automotive engine, in which signals of revolutional number of engine and revolutional speed for idling are both furnished to an control unit for controlling revolutional speed for idling, whereby it is enabled to accomplish control for the vehicle speed and revolutional speed for idling by a single control unit.
CONSTITUTION: Signal of revolutional number of engine is compared with signal of reference voltage generator 63, which produces pulses of square wave form having a large or small duty ratio depending on the result of the above comparison. Only at the time of idling, integrator 65 is set into operation in response to the throttle closed position and controls rate of fuel injection and flow rate of supplemental air by-passing throttle valve by decreasing or increasing time period for energizing electromagnetic valve 30 throu-comparison with triangular-wave voltage having a constant period, thereby controlling revolutional number for idling to a standard value. This standard value is varied with parameters of temperature of cooling water, air-conditioning switch, N-switch, etc. to satisfy requirements of engine. For automatic constant-speed operation, set values are stored in memory 72 for effecting control for the operation by means of said electromagnetic valve 30 which is operated depending on the difference between the actual vehicle speed and a reference vehicle speed.
