Abstract

PURPOSE: To simply and accurately align the stepping motor for driving an intake flow control means with the intake flow control means by providing a contact at the reference position within the control range of the stepping motor instead of a complicated positional sensor.
CONSTITUTION: At the idling time, i.e. when a throttle valve 14 is fully closed, this idle rate of revolution controller maintains the number of idle revolutions in a specified value by actuating the valve body 20a of an air flow control valve 20 as an intake flow control means using a stepping motor 24 and controlling the opening area of a bypass passage 18. The stepping motor 24 is controlled by an electronic control circuit 26 depending upon the operation status of an engine. In this case, a contact which is not illustrated is provided at the reference position within the control range of the stepping motor 24. Besides, immediately after the engine ignition switch is turned off, the stepping motor 24 is driven up to the reference position which is detected by the said contact and aligns with a control valve 14.
