Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the rate of exhaust from sample bottles and reduce exhaust time by so adjusting the flow of exhaust gas that it does not become molecular flow in the initial period.
CONSTITUTION: Valves V1 thru V3, V7 are closed, an exhaust valve V4 and valve V6 are opened and a sample bottle 1 is exhausted by a vacuum pump 4 through an injection needle 2 plunged into its rubber cap 3. At this time, a vacuum gauge 6 is monitored and a leak valve V5 is so regulated that the degree of vacuum in the exhaust pipe 5 does not cause the flow of the exhaust gas to become molecular flow. After the degree of vacuum in the bottle 1 reaches the specified value, the valve V5 is closed and further upon arriving of the degree of vacuum at a desired value, the valves 4, 7 are closed and the pump 4 is stopped. Next, the sample valve V1 and suction valve V2 are opened and the sample gas is sucked from a sample container 10 by a suction pump 9, by which the inside of the sample pipe 7 and suction pipe 8 is substituted by fresh sample gas. Next, the valve V2 is closed and the pump 9 is stopped, after which the sampling valve V3 is opened, through which the sample gas is drawn into the bottle 1. Thereafter, the valves V3, V1 are closed and the needle 2 is pulled from the bottle 1.
