Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a pressure fluctuation in a chamber during a gas leakage detection by a method wherein an exhaust gas port of a leakage detector and a chamber are communicated through an exhaust gas return tube. CONSTITUTION:When a gas leakage detection is performed, a nitrogen gas suction tube 6 is communicated to a suction port 4a of a leakage detector 4 by actuating three way valves 5, 8 and along with this, a nitrogen gas exhaust tube 9 is communicated to an exhaust gas port 4b. Next thereto, the three way valves 5, 8 are changed-over to make the chamber 1 and the exhaust gas port 4b communicate and a suction fan in the leakage detector 4 is rotated. The air in the chamber 1 is sucked into the leakage detector 4 through a suction tube 3 and the quantity of leakage gas is measured. Next thereto, the air in the leakage detector 4 is returned from the exhaust gas port 4b to the chamber 1 through the exhaust gas port 4b. Owing to this exhaust air return, the pressure fluctuation in the chamber 1 is reduced.
