Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the steam-drain separability of a tangential duct type steam- drain separator by connecting a bent pipe to the duct inlet part to regulate the flow of fluid introduced.
CONSTITUTION: Tangential duct 12 is attached to steam-drain separation drum 14 to construct steam-drain separatot 2' (drawing a), and bent pipe 15 is connected to the tip of duct 12 through flange 17 to manufacture steam-drain separator 16 (drawing b). A steam-drain mixt. flowing from inlet 3 follow the loci of curves represented by streamlines 18, and it turns along the inner wall if drum 14. Hot water is drained from drain pipe 11 with centrifugal force like line 10, and steam is taken out of frum 14 through taking-out pipe 8. By attaching bent pipe 15 the steam-drain mixt. described curves and enters drum 14 at a small inflow angle to the inner wall of drum 14, so separator 16 can exhibit performance equal to that of a spiral duct type steam-drain separator.
