Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the better separation of fluids such as air and water, jointly incoming through an intake pipe by providing a funnellike portion inside the body and also providing a conical splitter inside its chamber.
CONSTITUTION: When injecting water into the inflow hole 4 drilled in the tangential direction of the body 2, a free swirl is formed inside the vortex flow chamber 1, a forced swirl is formed at its central part, and the water is flowed out of the discharge hole 6, whereupon a negative pressure region is formed near the central portion, caused by a centrifugal force effect originated from the forced swirl flow, inside the vortex flow chamber 1. Then, air is sucked into the vortex flow chamber 1 through a check valve (not illustrated) and the intake pipe 11 and then the air with said water is flowed in a spiral form into the inside chamber 8 through the discharge hole 6. The air, however, is bubbled by the conical splitter 9, moved jointly with the swirl flow of the water effectively toward the vortex flow chamber 1 along the funnellike circumferential wall of the inside chamber 8, and then discharged out of the inflow hole 4.
