The nut, which is formed at one end of a sleeve 23, is urged away from the support by a spring 28, and a rotatable cam acting on the sleeve 23 moves the nut and screw against the force of the spring to give a coarse adjustment of the headlamp position, rotation of the screw giving fine adjustment. The cam is rotated through a Bowden cable or the like by a knob on the dashboard, the cams of a pair of headlamps being interconnected.
