Abstract

1,232,597. Vehicle headlamps. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. (Joseph Lucas (Australia P.T.Y. Ltd.). 26 Sept., 1968 [6 Oct., 1967], No. 45753/67. Heading F4R. A vehicle headlamp unit 13 is adjustably secured to a support 11 by means of a screw 16 which is rotatably mounted in the rim 14 of the unit and engages a nut 18 slidable in a housing 19 secured to the support. The nut is held in any one of a plurality of axial positions in the housing by one or more sets of detents 27, the nut and/or the housing being sufficiently resilient to allow the nut to snap from one position to the next so that coarse adjustment of the position of the unit can be obtained. The movement of the nut in the housing can be controlled from within the vehicle, and the setting of the unit can be shown by indicator lights.
