Abstract

1,148,761. Screw and nut mechanism. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 16 Sept., 1966 [22 June, 1965], No. 26299/65. Heading F2Q. [Also in Division F4] A vehicle headlamp unit is adjustably secured to a support 12 by means of a screw 18 which is rotatably mounted in the rim 16 of the unit and engages a nut 22 slidable in a sleeve 24 secured to the support. The nut is formed at one end of a sleeve 23 which is loaded by a spring 28 to engage a manually operable cam 27, so that rotation of the cam gives a coarse adjustment of the headlamp position whilst rotation of the screw gives fine adjustment. The screw 18 is located at the top of the unit and a second screw (19, not shown) is disposed at one side of the unit so that universal adjustment is possible.
