Abstract

The patent seeks to overcome the well known difficulties of passing vehicles which dip their lights. This gives rise to black spots in which obstacles cannot be seen and is tiring when dipping is a constant procedure. A narrow flat beam lamp, of full power is mounted low at the rear near side of the vehicle. This is blanked to prevent rays diverging from the line of the road of the off side. This is further ensured by the vehicle body acting as a further screen. An alternative mounting is on the bonnet, relying only on the off side of the lamp being blanked off.
