Abstract

[Also in Division H1] In a vehicle lighting system having a signalling lamp (e.g. turn indicator lamps 2 and stop lamps 3) whose intensity is reduced when another lamp (e.g. side lamps 1) is switched on, a control member (e.g. switch 12) is provided to override the effect of switching on lamps 1. The intensity of illumination is altered by switch 8 controlled by relay coil 11 which is energized when switch 12 (see Division H1) is in the position shown and the side lamp switch 4 is closed. Depression of push button 13 opens switch 12 and at the same time energizes hold-on coil 17 and warning lamp 18, so as to provide maximum illumination, for example in foggy conditions.
