Abstract

1424038 Road traffic signals on vehicles ICHIKO INDUSTRIES Ltd 15 Feb 1973 [18 Feb 1973] 7485/73 Heading G4Q [Also in Division H2] A circuit for controlling the intensity of vehicle lamps comprises lamp circuits A, B, C, D for connection to tail lights 3, 4, stop lights 5, 6 and turn indicator lights 7, 8, selector switches S2, S2, 53, light intensity decreasing resistors R1-R4 and a switch 16 connected in parallel with the series circuit of a diode 13 and a relay coil 12, the selector switches being changed over when the relay coil is energized so that the lights are dimmed. The circuit includes a brake switch 9, a flasher unit 11 and a direction indicating switch 10. When a lighting switch 2 is closed, the relay 12 is energized via the diode 13 and fog lights 14, 15. Contacts K1, K2, K3 are therefore changed over to connect the resistors R2, R3, R4 in series with the stop lights and turn indicator lights, the tail lights being dimmed by the resistor R1. If, however, the fog light switch 16 is closed, the relay coil 12 cannot be energized so that the lights 5-8 are not dimmed. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,386,457.
