Abstract

1340732 Road traffic signals on vehicles SWF-SPEZIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU GmbH 21 May 1971 [23 July 1970] 16227/71 Heading G4Q Vehicle rear flashing direction indicator lights 10, 11 are dimmed at night on operation of light switch 25 which actuates switches 14, 15 breaking the short-circuiting of resistors 12, 13 and connecting compensating resistors 18, 19 to the direction indicator switch 16 so as to maintain constant the current through the flasher unit 17. As shown switches 14, 15 are operated by electromagnetic relay 20. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 2 (not shown), the compensating resistors are connected in parallel with the flasher lamps. The resistors 18, 19 can be wound inductively on the relay 20. The brake lights may also be dimmed.
