Abstract

1,092,712. Control systems for vehicle headlamps. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Jan. 28, 1965 [March 16, 1964; May 19, 1964], Nos. 10926/64 and 20530/64. Heading H2H. A vehicle headlamp control system comprises a three-position headlamp switch in the second position of which the side and tail of the vehicle are illuminated and in the third position of which the main beam or dipped beam headlamp filaments are illuminated according to the position of the dipswitch, a relay means and a resistor being provided whereby the dipped beam filaments are illuminated at a dimmed level when the headlamp switch is in the second position and the vehicle ignition switch closed. A diode is provided to prevent the ignition switch from being shunted by the lighting circuit.
