Abstract

A device for adjusting the position of a headlamp in a motor vehicle about two orthogonal axes, specifically an axis for directional adjustment (A) and an axis for inclination adjustment (B), has two spherical joints (22, 24), which connect the reflector (16) of the headlamp to a support construction (12) and are aligned along one of the axes (A), as well as a single adjusting element (screw rod 42) which is connected to one of the spherical joints (24) and is supported by the support construction such that it can be moved in a translatory fashion and rotated. The adjusting element is provided with a cam (48) which interacts with a complementary element (arms 50) of the headlamp in such a way that turning of the adjusting element produces an angular displacement of the headlamp about one of the adjusting axes (A) and an axial displacement of the adjusting element effects an angular displacement of the headlamp about the other adjusting axis (B).
