Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the images which are sufficient in image density and free from any photographic fog by coating the portion corresponding to the rear half of the developing contact part on a conductive sleeve by an insulator and applying bias voltage to said sleeve in the development of the electrostatic latent images using high-resistance magentic toners.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic toners 5 of high resistance move in the direction of the arrow on the surface of a sleeve 3a by the revolution of a magnetic roll 3b. The bias voltage V1 of the polarity opposite from that of electrostatic latent images 2 is applied to the sleeve 3a by an electric power source 6.
