Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the circuit and to improve the control performance by providing one commutation capacitor controlling triggering timing of thyrisotrs, and controlling the recharging voltage of the commutation capacitor. CONSTITUTION:Thyristor bridges 3A and 4A are connected to a power-supply transformer 2A and thyristor bridges 3B and 4B are connected to a power-supply transformer 2B whose phase is the same as that of the transformer 2A. Furthermore, the bridges 3A and 3B and the bridges 4A and 4B are connected in series. A commutation capacitor 5 is connected to the connecting points of said briges. Therefore, while the positive-side bridges 3A and 3B are operating, the thyristor elements in the bridges 4A and 4B on the opposite side are used as auxiliary commutation thyristors, and the commutation in the negative-side arm of the bridge 3A and the commutation in the positive-side arm of the bridge 3B can be commonly performed with the capacitor 5. Thus, the circuit can be simplified and the stable commutation can be carried out.
