Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify constitution of a commutation circuit while expanding a controlling range by a method wherein commutation is conducted by means of common commutation capacitor and commutation reactor to two thyristor bridges. CONSTITUTION:Power converters 3A, 3B formed by thyristors with six arms in bridge shapes are connected to power transformers 2A, 2B, and the output is given to load 5 through a reactor 4. The one ends of commutation auxiliary thyristors 6A, 6B are connected to the transformers 2A, 2B, and each thyristor 6A, 6B is connected at the other ends while a series circuit of a commutation capacitor 7 and a commutation reactor 8 for common use is connected to the node and a node of the thyristor bridges 3A, 3B. A capacitor charge inversion circuit 9 is connected in parallel with the series circuts 7, 8 in order to shorten commutation time as necessary.
