Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve remarkably power factor of electric source side, by controlling such that phase of fundamental wave of alternating current side phase current is always same phase with the phase voltage, regardless of variation of control angle.
CONSTITUTION: For example, forced commutation circuit due to serial diode type condenser commutation system is provided in the positive side of bridge 3A which is composed of semi-conductor switching element of 6 arms and load of 3B. The positive side arm of the bridge 3A of one side is operated with control angle of lead phase to electric source voltage, and load arm is operated with control angle of delayed phase to electric source voltage. The negative side arm of another bridge 3B is operated with control angle of lead phase to electric source voltage, and the positive side arm is operated with control angle of delayed phase to electric source voltage. Power factor is improved in each bridge, and power factor which is synthesised by combination of two sets of bridges is furtherly improved.
