Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the effective feeding, make thermal controlling easy at the same time and enable the quatitative designing of metal molds by segmenting stepwise the positions for pouring into the metal mold and pouring from respectively different holding furnaces.
CONSTITUTION: The molten metal in a holding furnace 12 is pressed by pressure air through a pouring controller 14 and is thereby poured into the cavity of a metal mold 11 through feed pipe 15. Upon ending of the pouring the molten metal of a holding furnace 13 is similarly poured into the cavity through the controller 14. If check valves are provided in the upper part in the feed pipes 15, 16, the air pressing of the furnaces 15, 16 may be released immediately upon ending of the pouring. Also, the device of mounting the pipe 16 to the metal mold 11 is positioned lower by about 30W50mm from the top surface of the molten metal poured through the pipe 15 to prevent the inclusion of the oxides, etc. on the molten metal surface. With this method, the pouring at the cavity top is final, at which point the temperature becomes maximum and therefore the feeding effect may be sufficiently expected.
