Abstract
PURPOSE:To save energy and time in bloom-rolling, by taking out a molded steel from a mold when the steel has attained a specified degree of solidification after the molten steel had been poured into the mold, keeping the molded steel in an insulating apparatus for a certain period of time to soak the steel through transfer of heat to the surface of the steel, the heat being due to latent heat of an unsolidified portion of the steel, and by bloom-rolling the steel without passing through a heat equalizing furnace.
