Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a thermal head for enabling a production of such an image quality as having a high concentration without uneven concentration by a method wherein a thermal resistant plastic having either a conductive glass fiber or a metal etc. is applied in one part or all of the electrode of the thermal head.
CONSTITUTION: Plastic forming operation is performed under an injection by using a conductive plastic 8 on a base plate 3 made of a ceramic etc. resulting in producing a projected electrode having a hole at its central portion. This conductive plastic includes a glass fiber in which its surface is covered with a metal in thermal- resistant resin, has a resistivity approximately being equal to that of a metal and also has a thermal conductivity approximately being equal to that of insulator. Metal electrodes 9 are evaporated at both sides of the projected electrode, etched and then a heating paste 1 is coated in the central hole. Lastly, the upper surface of the heater 1 may be made to be flat and a protection film may be formed.
