Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a stable power source voltage free of the temperature charactericstic and reducing the power by controlling the voltage on the basis of the dynamic characteristic of an MOS type FET.
CONSTITUTION: The drain current of MOS type FET increases when the temperature increases in a case where a voltage between the gate and source is less than a predetermined voltage, and conversely reduces when it exceeds the predetermined voltage. Accordingly in a ring oscillator 20 constituted by an FET having this characteristic is used, a stable frequency free of the temperature characteristic is obtained when the power source voltage is sustained at a specific value, and conversely when the oscillated frequency of the oscillator 20 is sustained at a specific value, a voltage free of the temperature characteristic is obtained, As a consequence, when a voltage higher than the predetermined control voltage is applied on a circuit block 5 at the time of connecting the power source, and the output period of the ring oscillator is shortened, a charge pump circuit 18 within the control means 19 is caused to discharge a capacity 17 thereby to lower the voltage between the gate and source of the MOS type FET 16.
