Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the power loss in a starting circuit at the time of application of power and protect an output transistor at the time of short circuit of a load, by stopping the operation of the starting circuit after a stabilized power supply circuit is shifted to stationary operation.
CONSTITUTION: The starting circuit 30 comprises a first transistor 31 for supplying a starting current to a driving circuit 19; a resistor 32 coupled between the base of the transistor 31 and a power sourec; a capacitor 33 coupled between the base of the transistor and the ground; a second transistor 34 for supplying the starting current to the driving circuit 19; a resistor 35 for supplying a base current to the second transistor 34 through the first transistor 31; and a constant voltage diode 36 for stabilizing the base potential of the second transistor 34. A time constant circuit is constituted by the resistor 32 and the capacitor 33. A diode 37 is provided to supply a current from an output terminal 18 to a power terminal of the driving circuit and prevent the starting current from flowing into a circuit 21 of a television receiver. The power loss in the starting circuit at the time of application of power is thus reduced.
