Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption of an electronic circuit by controlling an oscillation circuit current by the frequency division current of a frequency divider circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Since gate potentials of transistors 14 and 15 are common, the ratio of oscillation current I1 to frequency division current I2 becomes equal to the ratio of conductance coefficients β of corresponding transistors. Consequently, pretty stable frequency division current I2 can be utilized in the process to restrain irregularity of the oscillation current to the same degree as the frequency division circuit. Then, even if power source voltage VSS is changed, power consumption of the electronic circuit can be reduced because frequency division current I2 has a little power source dependence.
