Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the power consumption, by operating the circuit optimizingly, through the automatic change in the circuit constant depend on the operating condition of circuit.
CONSTITUTION: The crystal oscillation output is inputted to the gates 1 to 3 having the threshold value VT1 to VT3 different each other via the capacitor 11. The crystal oscillation is made by the inverters 12 to 14 having different threshold values and connected in parallel. The power supply fed to the inverters 12 to 14 is given via the switching transistors 15 to 17. The switching transistors 15 to 17 supply power only one optimum oscillation inverter with the gate circuits 1 to 3. When the oscillation output is lowered, gm is greater and oscillation is made easier. That is, the power supply is fed only to the inverter lower in the threshold value and the element greater in gm has generally greater power consumption.
