Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform voltage control to improve starting and lengthen the lifetime of a lithium battery, by controlling a switch circuit depending on the detected output voltage of a battery voltage reduction circuit to select a voltage to be applied to an oscillation circuit and a time measurement circuit.
CONSTITUTION: At the moment of fitting of a lithium battery 1, no voltage is applied to an oscillation circuit and a time measurement circuit such as an oscillation circuit 2, a frequency divider circuit 3 and a counter 4 and to a voltage reduction circuit 5 and a voltage detection circuit 8 detects that the output voltage of the circuit 5 is zero. The transmission gate 9a of a switch circuit 9 is opened by a detection signal from the detection circuit 8 to apply the voltage of the battery 1 to the circuits 2, 3 and the counter 4 to start oscillation and time measurement with good rising. Subsequently, the detection output of the circuit 8 is inverted and the lowered voltage of the circuit 5 is selected through the circuit 9 and applied to the circuits 2, 3 and the counter 4, etc. to perform low power driving. This results in lengthening the lifetime of the lithium battery 1.
