Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable lengthening of a life of a power source cell for an electronic watch, by a method wherein an output voltage in a normally specific step- down voltage range can be obtained by controlling charging and discharging of a capacitor for stepping-down a power source cell voltage corresponding to a step-down voltage output. CONSTITUTION:If a point of a step-down voltage circuit 8 changes to a low- level, FET S2 and S4 of switching circuits 21 and 22 are brought to ON via inverters 25 and 26, and a capacitor 23 discharges to generate a step-down voltage VO, being 1/2 a charging voltage, by a cell 7. The voltage VO is applied to a gate of an FET 31 of a voltage detecting circuit 9 and a clock terminal of a D type FF 32. If the voltage VO is below a given voltage, an output of an FF 32 inverts to a high level, and the point G attains a high level to bring the capacitor 23 into a charging condition. This obtains an output voltage in a normally specified voltage range, and permits lengthening of a life of a power source cell of an electronic watch.
