Abstract
PURPOSE: The base of iron alloy is coated with a powder containing a specific amount of boron and iron-family metal to a thin thickness and they are integrated by sintering to produce said composite sliding material with the same performance as that of conventional product without hardening and surface treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A power containing 3W30wt% of boron and the rest part of iron- family metal is coated on the base of iron alloy to a thickness less than 0.5mm to form the coating layer. Then, they are sintered to form integrated product for sliding layer. The boron forms hard borides with iron-family metals such as iron, cobalt and nickel to increase the wear resistance of the material.
