Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture sintered iron group alloy which has high strength and superior wear resistance and self-lubricity by adding C, Cu, Ni, Mo, S, and P to Fe and optionally further Sn, and performing sintering.
CONSTITUTION: A composite of 0.1W0.8wt% C, 0.5W10wt% Cu, 0.5W20wt% Ni, 0.1W5wt% Mo, 0.05W2wt% S, and 0.05W2wt% P, and optionally further 0.05W 3wt% Sn, Fe and inevitable impurities as the remainder is calcined, thus obtaining sintered alloy which has the texture that metal sulfides is dispersed uniformly in the matrix. The composition component C improves strength and wear resistance, and the Cu improves the wear resistance and self-lubricity; and the Ni and Mo improve the strength and wear resistance, and the S forms the metallic sulfides to provide the self-lubricity and also to reduce aggresiveness to opposite metal. Then, the P increase the density of the alloy and improve the wear resistance, and the Sn improve the strength and hardness.
