Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the abrasion resistance of copper alloy by a methode wherein a specific amount of Cr, Si or the like is incorporated in a copper substrate and, moreover, carbon particles are dispersed in a mixed form with graphite or the like.
CONSTITUTION: To the copper substrate, either Cr, Si or both thereof is incorporated in a concn. of 0.1W1wt% and, moreover, carbon particles with a particle size of 100 mesh or less are dispersed therein in the graphite or the mixed form of graphite and amorphous carbon. Moreover, a rare earth metal is dispersed in a mischmetal form. By this alloy composition, a cast structure is micronized and the precipitation hardening of Cr, Si is promoted. Therefore, while the electroconductivity is maintained, a collector ring with an optional shape being in excellent abrasion and high temp. and high pressure oxidation resistance can be prepared simultaneously.
