Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a slider for a collector with superior lubricity, wear resistance and arc resistance by adding carbon fiber to a sintered Cu alloy contg. specified amounts of Ti and Cr or contg. further Sn as a matrix.
CONSTITUTION: Powders of Ti, Cr and Cu are blended so as to provide a composition consisting of 1W10% Ti, 5W20% Cr and the blance Cu. 2W25% Sn may be substituted for part of the Cu. To the blended metallic powders is added 30W 60vol% carbon fiber having 3W20μm diameter and 0.2W10mm length in an unfastened state, and they are pressurized and sintered by a powder metallurgical method. Thus, a slider for a collector such as a pantograph contg. carbon fiber in a Cu alloy as the matrix and having superior lubricity, wear resistance and arc resistance is obtd.
