Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate confirmation of the end points of an oxidation process and a reduction process and obtain refined copper of uniform quality by detecting the concn. and temp. of exhaust gas is a crude copper refining process to judge the end points.
CONSTITUTION: SO2 detection pipe 3 is put into exhaust port 2 of refining furnace 1 and connected to SO2 meter 4 and alarm 5. Temp. detection pipe 6 is also put into port 2 in the vicinity of the inlet of port 2 and connected to thermometer 7 and alarm 8. The concn. of exhaust gas at the end of an oxidation process is set to 100W300ppm, the temp. of exhaust gas at the end of a reduction process to 350W 400°C, and the set values are interlocked with alarms 5, 8, respectively. Thus, the end points of the processes are judged systematically to facilitate recognition from a remote place. Troubles such as lance pipe clogging are easily found in the processes and can be eliminated.
