Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a low sol-Al steel with Si≤0.03% so l-Al≤0.01% by a method wherein the slag unavoidably introduced into a molten steel at the time of tapping the molten steel into a laddle is removed, and while agitating the molten steel by blowing an inert gas into the molten steel, Al is added to the molten steel in accordance with the amount of residual dissolved oxygen in the molten steel previously measured in the laddle.
CONSTITUTION: After refining the molten pig iron by the blow process in a converter, the molten steel is tapped into the laddle 1 without adding Si or Al as a deoxidizing agent, and the slag 3 unavoidably introduced into the laddle 1 is removed by a slag scraper 4. After removing the slag 3, a cover 5 is fitted to the laddle 1, and while agitating the molten steel 2 by blowing an inert gas such as Ar into the laddle 1, Al is added to the molten steel 2 in the form of an Al wire 6 through a feeder or the like in an amount which is determined in accordance with the residual amount of dissolved oxygen in the molten steel 2 measured in advance.
