Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve maneuverability of a motor cycle by reducing the lateral width of the body and thereby making the bank angle large, through employment of an arrangement in which a generator is disposed in paralle with an intermediate shaft driven by chain passed around the intermediate shaft and the crank shaft and rotation is transmitted from the intermediate shaft to the generator on the same side thereof. CONSTITUTION:Crank shaft 24 of the motor cycle is disposed laterally and supported to face laterally of the motor-cycle body. Upwardly of crank case 26, there is disposed and AC generator 25 in the manner that its rotor shaft 27 is paralle with crank shaft 24. Rotaion of crank shaft 24 is transmitted via chain 31 to an intermediate shaft 30 which is disposed in parallel with crank shaft 24 and equipped with means 32 for absorbing torque fluctuation. At the left-side end portion 30a of the intermediate shaft 30, there is fixed a pulley 60 in the manner that it is projected outwards from crank case 26. On the other hand, a similar pulley 61 is fixed at the left-side end portion of rotor shaft 27, and these two pulleys are connected via V- belt 62 for driving generator 25.
