Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the width of an engine and restrain generation of a noise, by supplying driving system power directly from a crankshaft as well as providing an intermediate shaft with a nondriving rotary body of a big weight. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of a crankshaft 1 is transmitted to a sprocket 21 through a chain 26, and subsequently transmitted to a rotor 36 through a spring damper 22, a member 23 and an intermediate shaft 20. During this transmission, any torque change in the crankshaft 1 due to intermittent explosion of each cylinder is absorbed in the spring damper 22, and the rotor 36 is rotated smoothly. At the time of starting an engine, rotation of a starter motor 29 is transmitted to the crankshaft 1 through an idle gear 30, gear 27, one-way clutch 28, sprocket 21 and the chain 26. The driving system power is transmitted from a driving gear 13 of the crankshaft 1 directly to a big reduction gear 12 without passing through the intermediate shaft 20, and then transmitted to rear wheels through a main shaft 7 and an power shaft.
