Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable floc to be formed in a short time by a method wherein a mixer is provided with a floc-growthing device connected thereto, complete mixing is carried out by rapidly stirring and a floc-growthing operation is carried out by slowly stirring.
CONSTITUTION: Feed water containing suspended fine particles is introduced through an introducing pipe 5 for a liquid to be mixed into a mixer A. A predetermined amount of a flocculant is added through an injection pipe 10 at an intermediate point. The liquid to be mixed which is introduced into the mixer A is jetted from the top 7 of the introducing pipe 5 for the liquid to be mixed located at an ejector part and stirred by a jet stream. The liquid introduced into a rapidly stirring chamber 2 is passed through an opening 8' of the leg of a funnel type member and collides with a partitioning plate 3 to form a circulating water stream.
