Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a dispersion of micropulverized material, having uniform density and stable qualities, free from flocculate and precipitate, by irradiating a mixture of a solid powder and a liquid or a liquid/liquid mixture with ultrasonic radiation.
CONSTITUTION: Powder and liquid are introduced into a mixing zone 3 from a hopper 2 and a tank 1, respectively, and preliminary mixed together. The mixture is sent through a pre-chamber 4 into an ultrasonic pulverization chamber 7 furnished with an ultrasonic vibration plate 6 driven by an ultrasonic generator 5. The mixture is homogenized by the vigorous collision to the front surface of the vibration plate 6, and then to the back face of the plate, and taken out through an outlet 9. The micropulverization is supposed to be caused by the impact forces of the ultrasonic cavitation.
