Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title substance useful as a raw material for functional group-containing perfluoro compound not starting from corrosive or low-boiling reagents, without forming noxious substances, by reacting a chloroglyoxalte with a metallic fluoride.
CONSTITUTION: On mole of a chloroglyoxalate of the formula (R is alkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, cycloalkyl group, etc.) is reacted with 1W10 moles of a metallic fluoride, e.g. sodium fluoride, at 0W200°C, preferably 50W160°C, to give the title substance. The reaction may be carried out in a solvent, e.g. diglyme or sulfolane; however, care should be taken because the abscnce of the solvent is sametimes advantageous to the reaction.
