Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a turbulence in air fuel mixture in idle and intermediate running for high combustibility by providing a valve in one of two suction passages formed in a engine supplying a lean mixture, which opens in those runnings of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder head 9 above a piston 12 is connected to an exhaust pipe 11 and two branch suction pipes 2, 3 extending from a suction pipe 1. An exhaust valve 10 and suction valves 5, 6 are respectively supplied for those pipes which are opened or closed with a fixed period by a cam not illustrated. A butterfly valve 4 which is opened only in idle and intermediate runnings of an engine by control mechanism not illustrated is provided in the way of one branch suction pipe 3. Both of the suction pipes 2, 3 open tangently to the cylinder 8. Supplying air fuel mixture from both the suction pipes causes a powerful turbulence.
