Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible that an upper-level unit performs required memory selection in the order of memory address bits according to capacities by switching arrangement of address signals according to memory capacity discrimination signals of memory cards. CONSTITUTION:Memory capacity discrimination signal SEL becomes high-level or low-level dependently upon capacity 64K bytes or 256 bytes of memory cards 37-40 which form memory module 26 of memory unit 2, and switching of AND gates 6, 8, 10 and 12 and AND gates 7, 9, 11 and 13 of selection circuit 5 of address circuit 4 is controlled through NAND circuit 3, etc. Therefore, the address signal from CPU1 is switched by circuit 5, decoder circuit 35, etc., according to memory capacities of cards 37-40, so that CPU1 can perform address selection in cards 37-40, selection of a memory element line, selection of cards 37-40, etc., continuously in the order of bits of memory address data according to memory capacities.
