Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the condition of a blast furnace by carrying out antomatically the control of the pressure at the top of the furnace by a method wherein a turbine governor valve is operated when the opening of the control valve of a septum valve system for gas in the top of the furnace is detected in the high-pressure operation of the blast furnace and the opening becomes smaller than that previously set.
CONSTITUTION: When exhaust gas from a blast furnace is decreased and the pressure at the top of the furnace is reduced while the blast furnace 1 is operated, the control valve 53 of a septum valve system 5 is closed. The opening of the valve is detected by a detector 2 for the pressure at the top of the furnace. When the opening becomes below 30°, a close signal is output to a range valve 52 to fully close the valve 52. When the pressure at the top of the furnace is not restored to a predetermined level, the detected valve opening of the control valve 53 is compared with valve- opening previously set by a lower limit setting device 10. When the detected valve opening becomes smaller than the set valve opening, a close signal P is input to a turbine governor valve 8 to close the valve and restore the pressure at the top of the furnace, thereby the amount of the exhaust gas from the blast furnace passing through the septum valve system 5 is increased. When the valve opening of the control valve 53 is restored to a level above the set value, an open signal is input to the turbine governor valve 8.
