Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the efficiency of transportation, by providing a vapor separator at the halfway part of a riser pipe and separating vapor on the way of the folw of a gas liquid mixture through the riser pipe to reduce the void percentage of the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid is heated by a heater 5 and supplied to a tank 6. The liquid is then conducted to the riser pipe 1. The vapor separator 7 is provided at the halfway part of the riser pipe 1 to bleed the vapor from the gas liquid mixture flowing through the pipe 1 to reduce the void percentage of the mixture. As a result, the increase in the friction loss is greatly suppressed, the slip between the liquid and gas is prevented, the efficiency of transportion is improved and the circulating quantity of the liquid is augmented. The vapor bled from the halfway part of the riser pipe 1 is effectively utilized as a heating medium for the falling liquid, through a heat exchanger 9 installed at a downcomer 2.
