Abstract
PURPOSE: To heat exchange among a plurality of fluids by one heat exchanger by disposing a plurality of shells for passing the fluids in number corresponding to the number of the fluids to be heat exchanged and inserting heat transmitting elements into the respective shells.
CONSTITUTION: High temperature fluid A is passed through a lower stage shell 6, lower temperature fluid B than the fluid A is passed through an intermediate stage shell 5 in the same direction as the fluid A, further lower temperature fluid C than the fluid B is passed through an upper stage shell 4 in opposite direction to the fluids A, B. Work fluid 13 in a heat pipe 14 is heatd by the fluid A, and evaporated to rise in the tube to the shell 14 where it dissipates its latent heat. After dissipating its heat, the fluid 13 is again condensed and liquefied to thus flow down toward the shell 6, but to partially evaporate again on the way in the shell 5 to thereby rise toward the fluid C side. Thus, the fluid C is heated by the fluids A, B to thus heat exchange among the three fluids.
