Abstract

A finned coil evaporator assembly for use in an air cooler comprises first and second heat exchange sections connected to one another in series and each made up of straight parallel tube portions interconnected by return bends and incorporating fins extending at right angles to the straight tube portions, characterized in that said second heat exchange section is disposed adjacent the inlet A to the first heat exchange section. Liquid fed to the evaporator is vaporized in the first section and superheated in the second heat exchange section. <IMAGE>
