Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the regulation of the quantity of filled working fluid and the removal of uncondensed gas, by coupling a heat changing part and a heat radiation part to each other through two passages to widen the allowable range of fluctuation in heat load.
CONSTITUTION: A heat pipe 1 filled with only a prescribed quantity of the working fluid is looped. The looped heat pipe is divided into two parts by partition plate 2. One of the parts is the heat changing part 3. The other part is the heat radiation part 4. The working fluid is heated and evaporated in the heat changing part 3 by an external heat source. The vapor flows in the direction of the arrow A to the heat radiation section part 4 through a passage 5, the heat of the vapor is radiated from the radiation part 4 to give thermal energy to the outside. Therefore, the vapor is cooled and condensed. The condensed fluid flows in the direction of the arrow B to the heat changing part 4 through another passage 6 so that the fluid is evaporated again. The return of the condensed fluid is thus facilitated.
