Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the heating area of the evaporation and condensation parts of a heat pipe approximately twice as large as that of a single pipe type for greatly improving the heat transmission ability by forming a heat pipe into a loop.
CONSTITUTION: A working fluid 4, which is evaporated by heat applied to an evaporation part 3a from the external heat source, passes through straight parts 1a and 1b, and moves towards a condensation part 3b. The steam of the working fluid having reached the condensation part condenses to emit latent heat, which is transmitted to an endothermic source located in this part. The condensed working fluid 4 is refluxed to the evaporation part through a wick 2 for refluxing the working fluid by the capillary pressure produced by the evaporation of the working fluid, so that heat is continuously transmitted from the evaporation part to the condensation part. Thus, forming a heat pipe into a loop permits are heat transmission ability to be greatly improved.
