Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate cooling of a liquid helium transferring pipe by allowing an evaporating gas, generating in a cryostat, to flow around the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: An evaporating gas having been generated in a cryostat 15 enters a gas passage pipe 17 from an inlet 17a of the gas passage pipe 17, flows along a liquid helium passage pipe 14 in the direction opposite to flow of the liquid helium and flows into a gas liquefying device. By flow of this evaporating gas, No. 1 shield pipe 16 is cooled, the liquid helium passage pipe is protected from external radiation heat and temperature of the liquid helium flowing in a transferring pipe is prevented from rising, and therefore, immediate transferring of the liquid helium is made possible even in the case of replenishment.
