Abstract
PURPOSE: To uniform the reduction of the whole generating surface thickness of a rotating regenerator and to permit a deposit to be readily removed by providing a casing around a fixed member containing heat exchanger tubes, and rotating the casing, letting one of heat exchanging fluids flow inside the tubes and the other, the outside.
CONSTITUTION: The gas flowing from a gas inlet duct 1 moves through a gas inlet hood 10, as shown by an arrow 27, and supplies heat for heat exchanger tubes 5 while passing through 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33 before flowing out from a gas outlet duct 2. On the other hand, the water from the lower header 6 is heated through the walls of the heat exchanger tubes 5 while passing through the tubes, as shown by an arrow 36. Temporarily or continuously rotating a casing 12 by driving a pin rack 25 permits the positions of the low temperature-side heat exchanger tubes and the high temperature-side heat exchanger tubes to be interchanged with each other, so that the reduction of the whole generating surface thickness due to the low-temperature corrosion can be uniformed, and the low temperature-side deposit can be readily removed.
